DURAN® Acid Storage Bottle, amber, with standard taper stopper and glass cap, 250 ml When cultivating microorganisms in Erlenmeyer flasks on a shaking tray, the oxygen input is often the limiting factor for cell growth. When using DURAN® Erlenmeyer flasks on a shaker, a liquid crescent forms due to the movement. The size of the crescent depends on the speed of the tray and the shaking diameter. The larger the surface area of the contents, the larger the gas exchange area and thus the possible oxygen input. However, the speed and the associated oxygen input can only be increased to a limited extent. The new DURAN® baffle flask with four baffles at the bottom interrupts the laminar flow and creates a turbulent flow. The surface area of the liquid and the gas exchange area are increased, which increases the oxygen input. Laboratory tests have shown that the oxygen input through the baffles is doubled compared to a standard DURAN® Erlenmeyer flask. Due to the completely automated and machine production, the Erlenmeyer flasks with baffles from DWK Life Sciences are geometrically reproducible. The wall thickness of the flasks has been increased to achieve excellent mechanical stability and to ensure a long product life. The special manufacturing process makes it possible to produce the product completely threaded in a two-step process. The flasks can thus be closed with the proven membrane closure of DWK Life Sciences. This enables a more reproducible gas exchange compared to other closure options such as sealing with cotton wool. Special features and advantages: The four baffles in the bottom cause a turbulent flow, increase the gas exchange area and thus increase the oxygen input At higher shaking speeds, the baffles cause more aeration for more growth, especially of bacteria At lower shaking speeds, the baffles provide more movement and gentle aeration for sensitive cell cultures Sealing with the proven membrane closure from DWK Life Sciences enables more reproducible gas exchange compared to other sealing options such as The special manufacturing process makes it possible to produce the product completely threaded in a two-stage process Available in three sizes for easy process scale-up The increased wall thickness of the flasks provides excellent mechanical stability and ensures a long service life Easy-to-read scale with graduation for measuring the contents Baked-on and therefore permanently durable white printed image Application: Growing and cultivation of microorganisms, Preparation of nutrient media and cultivation, Storage and transport of bacteria, yeasts, plant and animal cells , Suitable for liquid cultures (e.g. pure cultures, enrichment cultures), Use on/in shakers, The GL 45 thread allows the use of the following closures: GL 45 membrane closure for autoclaving processes, 30 mm culture stoppers made of e.g. cell wadding, silicone sponge or cellulose for cultivation, and GL 45 screw caps for storage of media or reagents. Delivery is possible with or without membrane closure and pouring ring. DURAN® Baffled Flask, with GL 45 thread
