The TN GOLD 80 can be used to determine whether gold bars or gold coins are genuine or whether they contain false cores;The instrument measures the thickness of gold bars or gold coins using ultrasound;Method: ultrasonic waves are introduced into the test object via a sensor. The waves pass through the test object, are reflected off the opposite surface and picked up again by the sensor. The resulting measurement is compared with the material thickness traditionally measured with callipers. Based on the measured value output, false cores (shown in grey), e.g. made of tungsten, lead, etc., are very easy to detect, since the ultrasound behaves differently than in pure gold;Selectable units: mm\ninch;The included SAUTER SSG software can be used to calculate the speed of sound for various precious-metal alloys. This makes it possible to determine whether coins or bars contain false cores or are made of one and the same material. Compatible with the following operating systems: Windows® 7/8/10/11;Known additions in the tested piece of gold – e.g. copper or silver – are compensated for by the software;The software additionally determines the value of the piece of gold;This is a non-destructive test method that measures right through the entire bar or coin, thereby providing maximum reliability;Internal data memory for up to 20 files (with up to 100 individual values per file);Zero plate for calibration included;Scope of delivery: operating manual, batteries, external probe (Ø 6 mm) and ultrasonic contact gel;Delivered in a robust carrying case;
