SampleSeal™ Heat Sealer Perform sealing and customisation of storage tubes with 2D barcodes in 96- and 384-well formats in a single process with the Thermo Scientific™ SampleSeal™ Heat Sealer. The foil-sealed tubes can be reliably stored at temperatures from -196 °C to +25 °C and easily pierced manually or with automated pipette tips. This makes the tubes compatible with many stand-alone or integrated storage applications. SampleSeal produces individually accessible samples. This helps you avoid freeze/thaw cycles that can negatively impact sample integrity. Fast and reliable sealing for your valuable samples: The entire rack of 96- or 384-well tubes is sealed and individualised in less than one minute. The use of foil sealing requires minimal heat for effective sealing. Tubes and rack are suitable for storage up to the gas phase of liquid nitrogen. Compatible with manual or automated processes: The seal leaves a clean edge around each tube for compatibility with subsequent automated storage equipment. No flaps or sealing film overhangs are left behind, which can interfere with machine handling. Racks with tubes can be inserted and removed more easily, either manually or by machine. The touch screen of the graphical user interface makes it quick and easy to get started by allowing the user to select labware and identify sealing parameters. Optimise storage efficiency: Maximise storage capacity with the higher density 384 tube storage format. Optimise storage space with the low profile of an applied seal compared to screw caps or septa seals. Store the sealed tubes in the same freezer as standard microtitre plates. The system approach: The unit is designed and validated as a system. The components are ready-to-use and work together optimally; so they require minimal set-up time and provide maximum storage integrity. Optional VisionMate 2D barcode readers and VisionTracker software log and track individual samples for a complete sample storage solution.
