DURAN® Flat Flange Reaction Vessel, DN 100, 500 mL Flat flange vessels are large-volume reaction vessels which are regarded as an alternative to round-bottomed flasks and consist of a base and a lid. These two parts are held together by means of a clamping ring. A seal or ground-glass grease prevents the ground surfaces from jamming. Different standard ground joints in the lid allow the flat flange vessel to be combined with other components (e.g. dropping funnels, stirring shafts, …). Plan flange vessels are well suited for preprative work such as general reactions, distillations, evaporations and dryings involving solid and viscous substances. Due to their walls, flat flange vessels are suitable for safe working under pressure and vacuum.
