Mode of operation A generously dimensioned DC motor converts the rotary motion into a vertical oscillating motion via a reciprocating gear. Due to the oscillations of the grinding bowl with high amplitude and frequency, comminution takes place in the grinding bowls by impact between the grinding balls and the inner wall of the grinding bowl as well as by friction between the grinding balls and the inner wall of the grinding bowl. In contrast to comparable mills, the spherical grinding bowl interior, which is optimally adapted to the comminution principle, achieves a significantly better degree of efficiency.
